In middle school, I shadowed a family friend at her job as an account manager for a small advertising agency. That afternoon, we walked across the street to the creative department. I stepped into a two-story room filled with hand-drawn posters, knickknacks, and yes—cigarette smoke. Mannequins hung from the loft, the walls were covered in doodles, and a handful of people sat on worn couches, enthusiastically debating ideas with notebooks in hand.

 

I was hooked.

Not because of the quirky office, but because I realized these people solved problems with curiosity, collaboration, and creativity. They asked questions, challenged assumptions, and built ideas that could change how people thought, felt, and acted. I knew I wanted to be part of that.

I've never second-guessed that decision.

 

Over the years, my role has evolved from creating the work to helping define the thinking behind it. I love uncovering the human insight that unlocks a problem, building strategies that give brands a clear point of view, and collaborating with talented people to bring those ideas to life. Great creative has always mattered to me—but I've learned that the strongest creative begins with purposeful strategy.

I value openness and honesty.

I communicate clearly and directly because I've found it builds trust and helps avoid confusion. That said, I care just as much about how things are said. My goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable being honest, ask good questions, and challenge ideas—not each other.

 

I believe in taking ownership.

If something goes sideways, my instinct is to step up and figure out how to make it better. I'm much more interested in solving problems than assigning blame.

 

I'm naturally curious.

I like to understand the "why" behind things, so I ask questions and dig a little deeper. It's never about challenging for the sake of it—it's about learning, aligning, and making the work stronger together.

 

Fairness matters to me.

I try to show up in a way that's thoughtful, inclusive, and aware of others. If something doesn't feel right, I'll speak up—with care. And if I ever get it wrong, I genuinely want to know so I can learn and do better.
